Once Bankie is sacrificed and Hanako's Ego disappears, her relationship with Taro becomes much more realistic. However, this is nothing more than a result of the Ego that Xela granted her. Because of this, Hanako is planning on forcing Taro to agree never to accept anyone's confession. Hanako is very clingy towards her older brother, and is worried that he will stop caring about her if he ever gets a girlfriend. However, It is most likely a result of the four split timelines interfering with his Ego. This might be due to trauma if one assumes Ayano took a violent path eliminating rivals. While Taro was somewhat unremarkable in the original game, he almost seems to lack a personality in Repudiation. This can serve as an obstacle for Ayano, as committing any suspicious acts in front of him can be grounds for a game over. While he can be considered a pushover, Taro has a strong sense of justice, and will run to the aid of anyone who needs it. Despite the fact that his only ties are with Osana Najimi and Hanako Yamada, he will accept a confession from almost anyone, implying that he, himself, has been granted a minor Ego. As several girls have been granted Egos by Xela Ahman, he has become a very popular student almost overnight. Even though he is introverted, he is certainly not shy by any means, though he can be considered somewhat of a pushover. Though admittedly somewhat bland, Taro is a kind and considerate young man.
